Elys secures conditional sports betting approval in Ohio

Gaming technology provider Elys Game Technology has secured conditional approval for a sports betting proprietor licence in Ohio.

Issued by the Ohio Casino Control Commission (OCCC), the Type C sports gaming proprietor licensure will enable Elys to roll out its sports betting technology in the state.

Ahead of this launch, Elys has entered an agreement to purchase 100 point-of-sale terminals and 100 self-service betting terminals for installation at host locations throughout Ohio.

Elys and Grand Central approved for second retail sportsbook in DC

Elys Game Technology has secured approval to open a second retail sportsbook location in Washington DC through an expanded partnership with the Grand Central Restaurant and Sportsbook.

The specific location of the new sportsbook has not yet been disclosed, while any opening remains subject to approval by the DC Department of Small & Local Business Development (DSLBD) and DC Office of Lottery and Gaming (DCOLG).

Elys and Grand Central opened their first joint sportsbook in DC exactly one year ago today (4 October), with the facility at Grand Central Restaurant and Sportsbook being the first at a bar not to be operated by the state lottery’s Gambet brand.

This came after Grand Central and Elys were issued a Class B operator licence by the DCOLG for the venture.

Elys granted approval for DC nightclub sportsbook

Gaming technology provider Elys Game Technology has been granted approval by Washington DC local government for a white-label joint venture with the Ozio Lounge, a Mediterranean-themed nightclub.

The business formerly known as Newgioco has agreed to launch a joint venture with District Hospitality, the club’s operator, and will trade under the BetDupont LLC name. The agreement has an initial term of three years from the date the licence is issued – with inbuilt provisions for two anticipated extensions of two years each.

The deal is subject to regulatory approval from the DC Office of Lottery and Gaming (DCOLG) – and would be the third white label retail sportsbook opened by the business in the city, having engaged in similar deals with the Grand Central Restaurant and Sportsbook, which has been completed and the Cloakroom Gentlemen’s Club, which is awaiting regulatory confirmation.

Elys scores extension to sportsbook partnership with New Mexico’s Isleta

Interactive gaming and sports betting technology business Elys Game Technology has signed an extension to its sportsbook partnership with the Isleta Resort and Casino in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Under the deal, Elys’ USBookmaking betting technology subsidiary will continue to provide sports wagering services and solutions to the casino.

This includes a series of self-service kiosks and in-person ticket counters located throughout the casino property.

Customers at the Isleta can place a wide range of bets on competitions such as the National Football League, National Basketball Association and Major League Baseball.
